March was amazing! It was a perfect mix of relaxation, slow expansion of the business, and unseasonal but rather lovely weather.
Sending My Work Out Into the World
This month I took a step I’ve been thinking about for a while. I turned my national parks illustration into individual stickers and postcards for select parks, packaged them up with prints and order forms, and sent them off to different parks in hopes of becoming a wholesale partner! There’s something both exciting and slightly terrifying about sending your work out like that — introducing it to spaces and people you may never meet, and just waiting and seeing what happens.
If you’ve ever visited a park and thought “I wish I had a sticker or postcard to remember this” — that’s exactly what I’m hoping to create. And if that’s something you’d personally be interested in, you can always just reach out directly to me. I’d love to get them into your hands too. I’m also now offering customized national parks maps, where I can mark the parks you’ve visited with your own travel dates — a little visual story of your adventures. Check out all of my available National Park artwork HERE.
A Week (or two) Away!
Stephen and I snuck away to Grand Junction for about a week, and it was one of those trips that just felt easy, breezy, beautiful. We stayed in the cutest Airbnb, Otis and I spent slow mornings drinking coffee next to the fireplace, and I got to fully lean into my new e-bike life — riding around town, popping into thrift shops, and just wandering around.
We also biked part of Colorado National Monument, which was equal parts stunning and humbling (turns out, even with an e-bike, it’s still a climb). It was a perfect reset and came at a really great time, I am already looking forward to our next trip out there!
Later in the month, we also got a quick long weekend away in Mexico! We traveled to Isla Holbox, a cute little island a few hours north of Cancun. If you have time to take a trip with at least 3 full days away, we would highly recommend!
Community, Creativity & Some Really Fun News
Back home, we had another Third Thursday put on by Breck Create, which continues to be a great way to feel connected to the local art community when there are not as many markets happening. I also ran a giveaway at the event for new subscribers and the winner was.....Susie Lovesay! She won a month of Little Art Club and she decided to send it out to her niece — which was so fun to do and something I definitely want to keep incorporating.
And in one of those moments that makes you pause a bit — I was featured on the Town of Silverthorne’s website talking about my First Friday artwork! That piece will have its first chance to be purchased at the upcoming April First Friday, which feels really special. Check it out HERE. In May, the new Kleen Kanteen cup will also be featured at their community celebration First Friday.
Also (!!) my Dillon Business Directory map/brochure officially went to print. I am so excited to see it out in the community soon! If you see it out in the wild, please tag me with a photo of it!
And, I was reached out to by Exit 205 Magazine to create an illustrated bingo board as well as to design the cover illustration for their yearly issue coming out in May. Stay tuned for those!
A Little Art Club (and a Little Extra Love for mom)
Little Art Club is continuing to be one of my favorite things I do each month — a small, tangible piece of art showing up in your mailbox. It has been helpful for me to keep creating new artwork, even when I am not feeling particularly inspired.
For this upcoming month, I’m trying something new!
If you are signede up for Little Art Club by April 28 (both existing and new members), I’ll send an extra bundle to a mother (or mother figure) of your choice for Mother’s Day. Could be your mom, a friend’s mom, your daughter, or anyone who feels like that kind of presence in your life.
Just add their info in the notes at checkout (or send it to me after), and I’ll take care of the rest.
If you’re still figuring out a Mother’s Day gift, you can also purchase Little Art Club as a one-time subscription — 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. Truly the perfect gift that keeps on giving, in my opinion:)
SPOILER ALERT! April Little Art Club artwork reveal on the next slide!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
And in some truly exciting backyard news: Atilla the Hen and Fanny officially started laying eggs for the year. Which somehow feels like a milestone? Yay for chickens!!! Otis as always was helping me make sure everything was good with the girls.
Thanks all for tuning in and for the continued support! Cheers to all, Megan
