About Me

Hi, I’m Megan, the creative wanderer behind Quirks of Arts Co! This little corner of the world is where I let my artistic curiosity run wild—dabbling in everything from clay jewelry and watercolor to digital art and custom creations.

I’m originally from Minnesota, where I studied biology and environmental studies at Gustavus. My love for nature led me to the Wolf Ridge naturalist training program, which in turn brought me to Summit County, Colorado. I spent two years teaching outdoor education at Keystone Science School before COVID changed everything. After that, I worked at Summit County Libraries for four years—feeding my love for learning and creativity—until my husband and I decided to take a leap and travel.

Through it all, I’ve always been making things. For years, I sold my art online and at craft fairs while working full-time, but after some life ups and downs, I realized life’s too short not* to give this a full-time go. For a long time, I worried I wasn’t "good enough" or that I didn’t have the right credentials since I never went to school for art. But at the end of the day, creating makes me happy, and I love sharing that joy with others.

I’ve always been a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to art. I’ll pick up new crafts and set others down, but what matters most is that I’m creating things that bring joy—to myself and to others. My work isn’t about perfection—it’s about personality, playfulness, and those little quirks that make something truly one-of-a-kind. Whether it’s a hand-sculpted pair of earrings, a whimsical map, or a custom illustration, each piece is crafted with care, creativity, and a dash of spontaneity.

I started Quirks of Arts Co. because I believe that art should feel personal, approachable, and full of joy. My inspiration comes from nature, wandering thoughts, and the beautifully imperfect process of creating. When I’m not making things, you can find me gardening, rafting, camping, or canyoneering—or hanging out with my five backyard chickens.   If you love art that feels like a little adventure—something unique, a little offbeat, and made with heart—you’re in the right place.

Thanks for stopping by and supporting handmade creativity! Feel free to explore, reach out for custom work, or just say hi.!
