My Side of the Trail

June has been a full and vibrant month, the kind that leaves you sun-kissed, river-soaked, and a little more inspired than when it began. The big highlight of the month (besides celebrating our one month anniversary!) was spending a few dreamy days floating down the Rio Chama, thanks to a hard-won permit and a crew of good friends. We camped under canyon walls that turned golden in the evening light, spotted great blue herons around every bend (future art series? very likely), admired dinosaur tracks, and cooked up delicious river meals that tasted even better with sandy toes and smoky campfire hair.

Back at home, I’ve been steadily working through the #CampCreate2025 art challenge, pushing myself to try new styles and ideas. I also soaked up some creative energy from the Artist Summit 2025, attending a few virtual workshops that left my ipad full of sketches and my brain buzzing.

Our puppy Otis got his paws wet—literally!—and had his first real swim this month. Watching him gain confidence in the water was a highlight, right up there with harvesting the first veggies from my garden—radishes, of course. We made them into banh mi sandwiches that hit just right on a warm summer night.

The calendar’s been dotted with fun gatherings, too. I sipped my way through the Dillon Beer Fest with an old friend and her family, celebrated a soon-to-be mama at her baby shower, and spent a sunny day working the Dillon Farmers Market. I also spent a weekend at the Colorado Artisan Market in Denver, which gave me a chance to catch up with a few friends in Boulder and share my work with a whole new crowd.

All in all, June was a beautiful mix of rivers, radishes, and reconnecting—with nature, friends, and the joy of creating.

New Products in My Shop

My exciting new products this month come in the form of tote bags! I am working on creating in collections and ended up with a very fun beetle design from my Beetles and Blooms collection. I also took my Colorful Colorado design and added it to some tote bags as well for all my Colorado homies and their loved ones!

While not currently available, my inner librarian couldn't resist and I will also have storytime felt kits available on my website (hopefully) by the end of the week. These are perfect for parents looking to support early literacy at home, preschool & kindergarten teachers, speech therapists and literacy coaches, homeschool families, gift-givers seeking screen-free, educational play. Stay tuned for these!

What’s on the Workbench

As previously mentioned, I spent a lot of June working on creative prompts with the #CampCreate2025 challenge. I am now working on a new challenge from CatCoq (aka my artist hero) to create a new collection. I am remaking one of my most popular greeting cards - The Birthday Chicks - and recreating them into a fun collection with hero designs as well as secondary and blender patterns to coordinate.

I’m continuing to work on my largest commissioned piece yet, a personalized map of the US National Parks.

As previously mentioned, I am also working on putting out my first batch of storytime felt kits. I am starting with the following themes: Outer Space, Numbers and Letters, the story of The Little Red Hen, the story of The Three Little Pigs, and a kit about growing and cooking vegetables inspired by Growing Vegetable Soup.

I’m also continuing to reach out to some gift shops in Colorado’s charming mountain towns to explore wholesale opportunities. If you’re a shop owner (or know one) who might be interested in carrying my work, I’d love to connect!
